Charon Planning is pleased to invite you to join us for a special webcast: The Employee Free Choice Act — What Businesses Need to Know.

The Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA) is a hotly debated piece of legislation will drastically change the union organizing and collective bargaining process and is designed to help unions fill their depleted ranks.  This bill is expected to be the next major piece of legislation to be addressed after health care reform.  President Obama has voiced his support for this bill, declaring that he will sign it into law if it is passed by Congress.

What would enactment of this legislation mean to businesses, and what steps can businesses  take now to prepare for the changes stipulated under the bill?  In our webcast, Jim Geier, of Human Capital Consulting Partners , and Brian P. Kirby, Esq., a labor and employment attorney, will examine the following topics:

  • What is EFCA, and how could it change the union organizing process?

  • Where EFCA stands — an up-to-the-minute report on the status of the bill and the political landscape surrounding it.

  • Steps your company should take now to proactively address the changing laws.

Recently, Senator Arlen Specter announced his support for a newly-revised version of the Employee Free Choice Act, and claimed he is confident that the bill will be signed into law later this year with the 60 votes needed to overcome a potential filibuster.  Whether you deal directly with bargaining groups or simply wish to remain up-to-date on the latest employment and labor relations laws, we encourage you to join us for this informative and free webcast.
